Mass Timber pioneers, Michael Green Architects and KATERRA, led the charge of mass timber development in the Pacific Northwest on several projects including the Catalyst building in the Eco-District of Spokane, WA.
This project started before the new Type IVC construction was added to the 2021 IBC. Our team took the base 2015 IBC provisions, augmented them with performance analysis using sophisticated fire modeling, to chart a path forwarded that met the project goals and exceeded the prescriptive code provisions.
