Bellevue, WA
Behind the scenes of the first Bellevue office building to go up in six years, the project team worked diligently to make sure the urban living room design was accessible to everyone in the community. The ground level space had significant slope and grade challenges to be met and our accessibility team led by Lena Roper worked with Skanska to provide code interpretations, meet multiple layers of accessibility standards, and provide solutions on elevators and emergency egress pathways.
The new building site incorporates the energy of this bustling tech hub with retail, dining, and a 6,000 square foot open space landscaped with native flora that people of all abilities can enjoy.
The Eight Bellevue will be completed in 2023, just in time for the new light rail station’s arrival to this already ample transit center. It was a pleasure to be part of the team for this future-forward project and help bring the entire community back together after extended periods of isolation.
