Facilitating the application of new mass timber code requirements to make Sturgeon Development Partners and TVA Architects vision possible for the record-breaking Portland Flatworks building was an exciting exercise in collaboration!
In addition to teaming up on breaking the height record for a cross laminated timber building in the region, our team provided an appeal for the design team to be able to carry through additional exposed timber ceiling, allowing the warm aesthetic of the wood to carry through more of the space while ensuring the safety of building occupants.
